Your Involvement ... did we mention that membership is free?

Membership: levels of involvement

Active: helping us to develop and run the group. From joining in via skype or email to meeting in person, there’s an opportunity for you to get involved whatever your ability. Being housebound does not mean you cannot be an active member.

In the loop:  choose this option if you don’t want to get too involved but would like to have our newsletter and be notified of social activities, consultations and the like.

‘Don’t call us, we’ll call you’: if you would just like to stay in touch under your own terms i.e. via the website, social media pages or through emailing us when you have an access issue, comment or question then this is the option for you.

Types of Membership

Full membership is open to all disabled people.  If a disabled person is under 18 years or needs someone to act on their behalf, their representative can be a full member instead.

Associate membership is open to individuals, groups and organisations that have an interest in supporting our aims. Associate members cannot be a trustee or vote at general meetings. However, we would like you to be involved in all other ways.

Your views matter

Rather like this website, our group is a work in progress. We want to be shaped by the opinions of our members. Tell us what you’d like from your local disabled persons social and access group. So don't be shy, put it out there!  We can't promise that we'll be able to deliver it all but we will certainly listen and see what is possible.

We are especially keen to hear what social activities and educational opportunities you would like to see available and about any barriers, physical or otherwise, that might prevent you from being able to take part.
